"JUNIOR DOLPHINS" is an exciting, voluntary, new initiative by Swimming Australia in which our club would like to participate.  The quandry is that our Tuesday night timeslot is insufficient to allow for these FUN events to be conducted at that time AND a number of our key personnel are not available for another ongoing day to be scheduled.

SO, for our club to become involved in this program we need parents, or older swimming members, who are keen to see this succeed and are able to commit to attending and organising these sessions.  A large amount of information and promotional resources can be found on the Swimming New South Wales and Swimming Australia Websites, and the North Coast Area Development Officer, Lyn Connell, is always willing to assist clubs joining this program.  The email below has useful Links to explain things a little further for you.

An OPEN GENERAL WORKSHOP to determine if there is sufficient interest in joining this program will be held at the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club NEXT TUESDAY, 6th September, 2016 from 5:30 pm.  Margaret Jopling attended the recent SNSW State Forum to learn more about this initiative and will introduce the Junior Dolphin program to those present, who will then be asked to workshop ideas on how this might be able to operate and strengthen our club.

If you think that we should have FREE MEMBERSHIP for 7 YEARS & UNDER then we ask that you attend this important event and assist us to participate in the program.  We can't do it without you.

The next club fundraiser will be a BBQ at the Bunnings store in Kempsey on Saturday, 24th September, 2016.  Some of the "usual crew" are unable to attend on that date and we really need assistance from parents of club members to ensure that, once again, this is a successful event. Even if you can only be present for part of the day, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Please confirm your intention to participate by return email, or simply contact the co-ordinators - Margaret Jopling and Cecil Gill ASAP.

Your early reply will enable us to ascertain if it is possible to run this event, or if it will need to be cancelled, with the club forgoing what is, generally, a major contribution to our funds.

Swimming NSW is proud that its online Timekeeping AND INSPECTOR OF TURNS Training Courses are now up and running. This new initiative is designed to help our volunteers quickly and easily gain the confidence and skills to help run a swim meet.

Our volunteers have told us for some time that one of the key barriers to them officiating in our sport is having the time to complete the necessary training. Now with the SNSW Online Courses interested individuals can complete the training where and when they want.

Once individuals have successfully completed the training they will receive a certificate to print out and take to their next Swim Meet so they can be assessed to become a fully accredited.

To view the course and other courses as they become available please visit the Swimming NSW training page here (https://nswtraining.swimming.org.au/)
